EYE wins Focal Awards
EYE Filminstitute Netherlands just won two FOCAL International Awards: for the Desmet Collection as best archival project, and for Karel Doing’s project Liquidator for the best re-use of archival material in a short film. Every year a jury distributes the Focal Awards (FOCAL is the international Federation of Commercial Audiovisual Archives) for large restoration projects which stand out for their innovative use of archival material. In addition to the winning projects EYE was also nominated for Best Use of Footage on Non-television Platforms (www.filminnederland.nl), and Best Archive Restoration/Preservation Title (Shoes).
Congratulations to EYE (in particular Elif Rongen-Kaynakci) and Karel Doing.
Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book
in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message
home a bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog.
A great read. I’ll certainly be back.
I don’t know exactly what you mean, but I wrote the book on Jean Desmet, the man behind the Desmet Collection.
