New publications online (6)

Modern pictures of the Gorges de l’Ardeche, the Orne, and the Yerres.

Today I uploaded two publications. One is an older one on Gaumont non-fiction films from the 1910s, dealing with French rivers, in particular L’Orne (c.1912), Les Bords de l’Yerres (c.1912), and Descente en barque à travers les gorges de l’Ardèche (c.1910). The article appeared in the journal 1895 of the Association française de recherche sur l’histoire du cinéma/AFRHC (1995). Courtesy AFHRC/ François Albéra.

The second article, ‘Infrastructure, open-system and the take-off phase. Jean Desmet as a case for early distribution in the Netherlands’,  was published in Networks of Entertainment. Early Film Distribution 1895-1995 (2007), edited by Frank Kessler and Nanna Verhoeff, and the publication of the conference papers of the Domitor 2004 conference in Utrecht, Netherlands. Courtesy John Libbey/ Frank Kessler.  At that conference, my publication Jean Desmet and the Early Dutch Film Trade (AUP 2003) had quite an important position, in particular my launching in the book of the term of distribution as the missing link in in studying (early) film history.
